Viewing the ledger report
The ledger report shows the booked amount per category (ledger account), compiled from purchase invoices, bank entries and sales invoices. This gives you a single overview of where money is going and where it comes from.
Where to find this
Go to Reports;
- Open the Category overview report.
Summary tiles
At the top of the report you will find four key figures: total costs, revenue, the net balance mutation and the number of entries. These figures update as soon as you change the filters.
Period filter and property filter
Use the period filter to limit the report to a date range of your choice. The property filter shows only entries assigned to a specific property. Both filters work together: choose a period and a property to see exactly that cross-section.
Type filter
Below the summary tiles is a button bar that lets you filter by account type. The options are All, Cost accounts, Revenue accounts and Balance accounts. By default the filter is set to All.
Table
The table shows, per ledger account, the name, type (Cost, Revenue or Balance), the number of entries and the amounts broken down by Purchase, Bank and Sales. The Amount column is the sum of those three sources. A coloured bar in front of the name indicates the account type: green for revenue, red for costs and grey for balance. Custom accounts are recognisable by the label "custom" after the name. Accounts without entries in the current selection are hidden.
CSV export
In the top-right corner you will find the Export CSV button, which downloads the visible data. Read more in the article about exporting ledger data.
Drilling down to entries
Click an account name to view all individual entries on that account. The active period and property filters are carried over automatically. Read more in the article about viewing entries on a ledger account.
