The box 3 calculation depends on the selected tax year: each year has its own rates, flat-rate percentages and tax-free allowance. Choose the correct year to calculate the return for that year.
Set the tax year
Go to box 3 return;
Open the Tax year dropdown and select the desired year.
The calculation updates automatically as soon as you choose a different year. Only years for which tax parameters have been configured appear in the list — the most recent year that has already started is selected by default.
